Sometimes the Dude just sits there, somewhere between a quiet lane at the bowling alley and an ice cube slowly dissolving in his White Russian, and lets his mind drift. Not thinking hard. Just… letting thoughts roll. Like a bowling ball that doesn’t really care where it ends up.

War, for example. The Dude doesn’t get it. Not really. To him, it feels like a game where everyone forgot why they even started playing. Too much force, not enough flow. Nobody just says, “Hey man, maybe we roll this thing a little softer.” War is like a bad frame—loud, aggressive, and in the end, nobody really clears the pins.

And then there’s this flat earth thing. The Dude would usually go, “Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.” But even the Dude has a limit to how much cosmic nonsense he can absorb. When someone starts going on about the Earth being a disc, he just slowly lifts his drink, takes a sip, and looks at them with that tired, slightly disappointed expression.

And somewhere in that moment, the universe kind of… corrects itself.

Not in a mean way. More like… unfortunate alignment. A bowling ball starts rolling. A foot just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Dude wouldn’t say he did anything. Things just happen.

Because the Dude isn’t into war. Not at all. But he’s also not into total nonsense. And somewhere between peace and absurdity, there’s a line.

And, well… that line is pretty round.

In my offline life, I work in international affairs with a focus on immigration. The study of Earth and its cultures through Abide University seems like a fitting capstone to my career thus far (in soooooo many ways, Dudes). Looking forward to giving the topic some thought and discussion here.
