In reply to <a href="https://aui.me/welcome-abide-university-journal/#comment-370">davidrwatson</a>.

Greetings Dudes, This may not be helpful because I think that The L.B.G.A. (Laid Back Golfer Association), of the 1990 was more of a gag merchandise line with hats, balls, tees, and golf-spiked flip flops, then an actual credo. I really liked my L.B.G.A hat. It was kind of a Screw You to my step dad, a serious golfer, and it conveyed my dude like attitude back before The Big Lebowski. What I am trying to say is that golf should be enjoyed. You need to let go of the competitive spirit, and stress of the game. The L.B.G.A's Motto was "What's the score? Who cares." and that is the point. Enjoy golfing with friends. Enjoy being outdoors, nature, the wind in your hair, and the sun on your face. Then may be you will relax, keep your head down, eye on the ball, and follow through.

As a newly-minted doctor of simplicity theory (just today, in fact), I have begun seeking outlets for my forthcoming scholarly products. Seems like this journal would be the place to start. As an avid, but inept, golfer, I plan to apply the priciples of Dudeism and Simplicity Theory to this age-old endeavor of ball-whacking frustration.

Until now, I have subscribed to the fundamental tenets expressed by the immortal guru Leslie Neilson in his ground-breaking "Bad Golf Made Easier" -- "We don't play golf to feel bad, we play bad golf, but we feel good."

Now, having achieved some small level of enlightenment through the discovery of Dudeism, I believe I may in some small way be able to expand upon the canon of Guru Leslie and help my fellow golfers mature in the Way of Abide.

My approach will be an interdisciplinary one, applying the tents of Liesure Science, Dudeist Studies, Earthology, and Limber Arts as well as Simplicity Theory. The Ultimate Goal of course, will be to develop a thorough program of Abidance Counseling for Golfers.

Clearly, this is a vast undertaking, and, after all, it will be just my opinion, man, but I will probably need to broaden my own studies into other degree programs, with the approval of AU faculty.

Hang loose, man.
