ParticipantI have made the switch back to a “basic phone” I got me a flip phone! I still carry my smart phone with me as I own a small business and need to respond to those emails fairly quick. I have it set up so my business email only gets real emails. No spam. I have gmail forward me a copy of the emails as texts so I can see if it’s an email that actually needs my attention. If it is, I can get to a computer, or I can set up a quick hotspot with my flip phone and check my emails on my smartphone (usually stays in my bag/briefcase)
Before this switch I had gone in and turned off all notifications. Made sure I unsubscribed to all the junk that was coming into my emails. Another big thing would be to limit social media. If you use facebook at all, the greatest thing ever is being able to unfollow someone. I have done that with SO MANY PEOPLE. If you post anything that fucks with my groove…gone. Life’s too short to need that crap in it. Another thing would be to make sure you don’t keep it in your bedroom. Get a real alarm clock and keep your phone in the kitchen or living room (a close room where you can hear it if it does ring). That way, you won’t be tempted to check it in the middle of the night. And stop using it about a half hour before bed.
The light phone looks amazing, but a little out of my budget.
Good luck Dude!

ParticipantI find great comfort in cruising. If I’m having a particularly trying day, I will just hop in my car and go. I live in the city so it’s harder to cruise without having to stop. Growing up in the country was great. I could drive for hours without having to stop. Now I just do a huge loop around my city and take in the lights. Helps calm me down.

ParticipantI’ll add different channels as they are figured out/requested.

ParticipantI just made a quick discord server. https://discord.gg/2etzEj I will try to get some different channels set up for more discussions. But there is the option for a voice channel so we can chat over there real time.

ParticipantAnd a Happy Hangover to you sir! Been abiding with some Wii bowling, oat sodas, and took in a couple concerts. It’s been a great Hangover this year!
JoeyJoeJoe
ParticipantThis sounds like a great discord/Skype call topic. Have some oat sodas, talk ‘shop’.

ParticipantI have Zero experience with this, but I can offer some general advice. Make sure the people you decide to work with are people you feel like you CAN work with. You may get a brilliant writer to sign on but they could be a terrible person to work with. Personally, I’d rather have a lesser qualified person but a person who I vibe with really well working with along side me.

ParticipantStrong possibility the special lady and myself will be attending. Depends on available time off. I have the ComedySportz World Championships in Philly the last week of July that I’m taking off for.

ParticipantDid you notice your spirituality increase after performing your first wedding ceremony? After I performed my first wedding I felt a great surge of validation. It really drove me to explore the religion as a whole.

ParticipantBy getting a damn tooth pulled. I’ll be on “mouth rest” for a while so no drinking through straws or smoking things for a couple weeks. Looks like I’ll be baking a nice special little treat and watching some netflix with the special lady friend. Maybe some Wii bowling (frugality is key).

ParticipantThat’s the MO of our demographic though. I plan on being more active once my improv classes are over. I’m currently teaching 2 courses, one for kids and one for beginner adults. It’s taking a crazy toll on me mentally. I have some ideas for some additional “knowledge” I’d like to contribute once my duties in the Comedic Science world are less intensive.

ParticipantUpdate: We’ve had a crazy little blizzard and my meet-up has been postponed yet again.
