Spirituality and Rugs:
In many places related to dudeism I have seen the question over and over. “Can I be (insert religion here) and a dudeist?”
And the answer is always a resounding “The dude abides!”
My properly limbered mind came up with a thought on this…
Your spirituality is your rug.
It ties your room together.
It gives you a space inside yourself to lay down and check the condition of your condition.
Dudeism is a thread of abidance that runs through that rug. Your other spiritual beliefs(or even lack thereof) are other threads in your rug.
And here’s the thing, my rug isn’t gonna tie your room together, but it ties mine together. Your rug isn’t gonna tie my room together, but it looks great in your room.
So if you need me I’ll be over here on my rug, checking the condition of my condition.
And let’s just agree not to piss on each other’s rugs and appreciate how they pull each other’s rooms together.
