The Simplicity of definition.

I love words and why they are what they are for why they are. So often they are taken for granted as momentum speed reads one step ahead.

They each have their own purpose but when mixed with others can often confuse and be overlooked which prompted me to tell this short story which happened two weeks ago…

An aquaintance of mine has had two jabs of the Corona vaccine and after the second one he felt ill so went to the doctor for a check up. He was given a blood test.

After receiving the results, he was panicked by an extra high reading that relates to the liver. The measurement should normally be around 50 but his was 600.

We sat in my garden and drank tea. I read his results with ignorant knowledge and listened while he began searching online for information… Reputable sites.

He was panicked and began refering to Liver failure and saying things like “Three months isn’t long to get my affairs in order”. I offered consolation and pointed to what I believe was an important thing he had missed…

The word “may” that was used in the context of diagnosis and outcomes.

To me, this implies only “possible” instead of “definative” problems. Those jabs have messed a lot of people up due to what I think is biological shock.

Now, two weeks later, and he is feeling great and very positive. Hypocondria subsided and skies are clearer for him.

However…I have yet to ask why he hasn’t had another test to clarify the first reading as a reaction from the jabs instead of a long-term problem but perhaps it’s better to allow sleeping dogs to lie for now and allow his newly afforded relief to help him instead of more science and numbers.

The simplicity of paying attention to the tiniest words can change worlds.
