I was inquiring about Dudeism in other forms of religion and or philosophy, whichever you call them. Could anyone give me any leads?

That’s a broad question… It can be applied in almost any other religion or philosophy that is able to abide others styles without wanting to kill them or force others to adopt it.
I am a Christian (not very popular amoungst Dudes since they tend to judge it by people claiming the title instead of the Dude it’s named for or what he actually lived like).

Jesus was, in a way, a Dudeist. He taught us that we should love one another, without exception. In his teachings we should be honest, and not bare false witness, also, that we should honor our elders. Not to mention the obvious stuff, murder, bringing harm to others, theft and infidelity. I may call myself a Dudeist, but that is because I don’t dig the hypocrisy I have seen in organized religion. Too many people crave power and control over others. Organized religion gives ideological power to those who crave power to abuse and lord over others in the name of God. A prime example would be the Peter Popoff Ministries. He was proven to use an earpiece and radio to get information about Parishioner, from questionnaires they filled out on their way in to the hoax healing show. Don’t believe me here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IstaJHczjY4 He never healed anyone, and most likely did more harm than good. Now he is offering “Miracle Spring Water” that can grant your every wish. The water is free but you are encouraged to donate whatever you feel this “Miracle Water” is worth.
I am not bashing the truly faithful who live as Jesus would teach. I fear that there are far too many who live selfish lives, and care not for their brothers and sisters.
As a Dudeist I follow those who teach the way of harmony, and TRUTH. I reserve the right to evaluate the wisdom of others. Weather it is Jesus Christ, Buda, Bruce Lee, Hunter S Thompson, Jeffery Lebowski, Alan Watts, Yoda, or “Hell” even Dwaine The Rock Johnson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEVnq6LIKOM All to help guide me on this journey of life. If I can walk in the light, wisdom, and truth of great humans, May be, just maybe I can help another.

I wonder if, in many respects, The Dude is akin to Jung’s monk psychological archetype. While not a religion, the archetypes sort of arise in all the world mythologies in one form or another. So The Dude is just an extension of that manifestation in the movie, The Big Lebowski. I think by considering The Dude as an archetype, you’ll find it arises in other works of art, particularly literary art. And also life. Everybody has come across The Dude archetype at some point, probably manifesting in your pizza delivery guy, or the gal in the sundress and sandals at your local used book store. So what is the difference between the Monk and the Dude. The Jungian Monk was not of a particular religious order, but rather a human being with an affinity toward the natural order. The root word for monk is monos, meaning one. In order to be one, you don’t differentiate between yourself and other. You just are. You just abide. Going to have to think about this some more.
