I am a part of ComedySportz Buffalo, a world-wide competitive improvisational comedy show. I perform in the flagship show, the Flesh Vs Felt (people vs puppets) show and the After Hours show “Knockout”.
I started assistant teaching a kid’s improv comedy class about a year and a half ago. Last session, I had the honor of leading the class. This was huge for me, I felt like such an achiever! Also, last session I assisted with our adult Level 1 Intro to Improv class. I just found out I’m going to be the sole teacher for this class this session! This is huge for me. There are only two places you can take beginner classes in our area and I’m teaching one of them!
This could end up being an anxiety inducing situation. Luckily, I keep my mind limber and I’m ready to ride the wave. It’s just crazy to think about how important this class can be for someone. My first experience with improve was with the level 1 class which started April 16th, 2016 and now…less than 3 years later…I’m leading it! That’s just mind-blowing to me.
Coolest part? When people ask what my experience is I get to say I have a Doctorate in Comedic Science!
Joe, it seems you are the right person for the time and place!
congrats to you!
