Thumbs up?

I have not seen it (viewing from my phone)  is there a way to upvote, favorite or like a post, without having to type a response? Maybe just a plus – no negative “votes’

 

As a suggestion  I’ve already seen a couple posts, that I think are beneficial, but I don’t necessarily have anything to add to the conversation

There is a voting plugin that we could add to the forum but it doesn’t allow you to see the highest rated topics and replies, so it’s not very useful. They might be updating it soon though. We’ll be updating the functionality of the forum and the site itself as time goes on. Thanks for the suggestion!

This would be a great feature to include eventually. It is nice to give feedback on a post or reply that is particularly interesting or enlightening.

I personally disagree with a voting system. I think each post should have it’s own weight and merit based on the content, not by the number of “upvotes”. One of my biggest personal gripes with websites such as Reddit. Voting usually does more harm than good, and I think with this community it would not be necessary to include at all.

I don’t see the harm in having a way to show you agree with someone. I’m on a bmx forum and most of the time you’ll get a thumbs up instead of a reply. There will most likely be conversations on here that I’ll read and have nothing to add myself, but I’ll see a post that I’m like, ‘Man! That was well said!’ Instead of clogging up the forum topic with that reply, I could just “like” it. It doesn’t need to be a Thumbs Up/Down system, it could be like the old school facebook, just a like.

It could be a little icon of a tumbler with a white russian that sloshes when you click it and adds a number.
