This is the first I have seen “Dudish” Like most new things I must approach with caution.
KalHyahDeloParticipantI have similar questions. I am content to be a Dudeist Monk. I know there are other Dudeist monks out there. ItsJessica Liked the https://aui.me/forums/topic/the-monastic-order-of-dudeists/ post. I find I would like approval of this concept or a blessing from the founders of The Church of the Latter Day Dude. I suppose I should just send them my thoughts and see what they think.
Then there is a question I have, my post on The Monastic Order of Dudiests. What does that mean for me? I am just a Dude who just wants to abide. Or am I actually a saboteur messing with someone else’s dreams or am I on to something.
I see The Monastic Order of Dudeists as a part of The Church of the Later Day Dude, or am I going too far. What is my responsibility to this idea? Is this going to impact my Dudeist studies? I seek balance, harmony, the ability to truly let that witch does not matter slide. I guess what this boils down to is I like The Monastic Order of Dudists idea. I would like to see it grow. I am just not sure what my responsibility to this is.
Back to the thread; Chain of command, Hierarchy? I am not sure what to do with this. Ideally Dudiests should be able to function as a collective with no need for hierarchy. But we are all people, and people need guidance.
Joeyjoejoe You started this thread, and I think this is a good question that I need more guidance with.
KalHyahDeloParticipantWell that little tree found a tough place to grow. It must be a follower of David Goggins.
KalHyahDeloParticipantBringing The Pain
June 10, 2019 at 2:58 am in reply to: Examples of Dudeism throughout other religions or philosophy #29782KalHyahDeloParticipantJesus was, in a way, a Dudeist. He taught us that we should love one another, without exception. In his teachings we should be honest, and not bare false witness, also, that we should honor our elders. Not to mention the obvious stuff, murder, bringing harm to others, theft and infidelity. I may call myself a Dudeist, but that is because I don’t dig the hypocrisy I have seen in organized religion. Too many people crave power and control over others. Organized religion gives ideological power to those who crave power to abuse and lord over others in the name of God. A prime example would be the Peter Popoff Ministries. He was proven to use an earpiece and radio to get information about Parishioner, from questionnaires they filled out on their way in to the hoax healing show. Don’t believe me here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IstaJHczjY4 He never healed anyone, and most likely did more harm than good. Now he is offering “Miracle Spring Water” that can grant your every wish. The water is free but you are encouraged to donate whatever you feel this “Miracle Water” is worth.
I am not bashing the truly faithful who live as Jesus would teach. I fear that there are far too many who live selfish lives, and care not for their brothers and sisters.
As a Dudeist I follow those who teach the way of harmony, and TRUTH. I reserve the right to evaluate the wisdom of others. Weather it is Jesus Christ, Buda, Bruce Lee, Hunter S Thompson, Jeffery Lebowski, Alan Watts, Yoda, or “Hell” even Dwaine The Rock Johnson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEVnq6LIKOM All to help guide me on this journey of life. If I can walk in the light, wisdom, and truth of great humans, May be, just maybe I can help another.
This Dude Abides.KalHyahDeloParticipantTechnodudeism. I like it, but it makes me think of Techno music. I can’t say why. I just don’t know.
KalHyahDeloParticipantI think as long as you are not charging people for your advice, or counsel there should be no issue. I mean every ass hole has an opinion and as a dude I am all for freedom of speech man. Its just when you add money to the equation people get touchie. As a Priest of The Church of the Latter day Dude you can charge for conducting a wedding ceremony. You need to go to your city hall and make sure you cross your “T,s” and dot your “I,s” in the legal arena first. CYA baby. But what do I know I only have a “honorary degree” from the 50 plus years I have walked this earth.
KalHyahDeloParticipantI have been a fan of Joe Rogan’s for many years. Today’s interview with Ben Shapiro was vary good. They got into a deep discussion about Secularism, Religion, and the state of the world today. The discussion was honest and made many very valid points. Mr Rogan, I believe, is more of a Dudeist than he knows. This pod cast is time well spent.
KalHyahDeloParticipantI like this, it just took me a day to think of a Dude that should be included in this discussion. Allen Watts. I find his wisdom insightful. Here is a taste of this Dudes brilliance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RMHHwJ9Eqk
KalHyahDeloParticipantI was without a phone or a computer from 2011 to 2017. I can tell you I didn’t miss the phone. Like JoeyJoeJoe I too now have a basic flip phone. My computer is a gift from my son, so we can Skype. It’s old and slow, Like me, and runs on windows 7. All in all things are good.
KalHyahDeloParticipantWisdom brother thank you
KalHyahDeloParticipantHay listen Dudes, I was not saying that monks are better. We are all dudes at hart. We are Brothers in a world of chaos, just trying to find peace. I would just as soon put a gun in my mouth than come off as some pompous ass. This is not a response to joeyjoejoe, I Love You Man. But the line in my own writing that bothered me, and I failed to fix it before I posted it. “A monastic is a more focused follower of a philosophy.” That sounds preachy and is not my intent. This Dude just wants to abide. I see anyone who believes him or herself to be a Dude, well more power to you. You can make it work for you however it feels right to you. If I have come off as a self-righteous douche, I ask for your forgiveness. Just trying to Abide here.
KalHyahDeloParticipantI was 5 or 6; this was back in 1968 or 1969 San Diego California. My mother was a hair dresser, so my hair was always cute little boy, (please note sarcasm here), I begged my mother to let me grow my hair out and to take me to the Hippy Store. I was fascinated with lava lamps, tie dye art, incents, and black light art. In High school I discovered Hunter S. Thompson, and I leaned toward a free thinking non conformist attitude. Between 1982 and 2001 I really tried to embrace the normal expected existence of the Mom, Dad, 2.5 children, and white picket fence. I was never really happy, something was always eating at me. I watched The Big Lebowski in the theater back in 1998. It spoke to me, but it was just a movie. I don’t remember the exact date I found out about the Church of the Latter Day Dude. Dudeism, I loved the idea. 18 July 2011 I received my papers of ordination. Shortly after that my life went sideways, hard. I have lost almost everything. During this self imposed exile from society I have had time to reflect on what really matters. My inner dude has emerged. Or, I really have gone round the bend hahaha. So when did I know? All my life, I just could not put a name on it until 2010.
KalHyahDeloParticipantHay Rev. Russ, You might recoup your expenses if you manufacture them yourself, I know Ctp. Obvious here, It just seems to me you have an opportunity here. I’m interested….but I don’t have a car…..or a bank account.

The Dudeist Bathing Ritual
I enjoy the Dudeist Bathing Ritual at least once a month, sometimes once a week. I shower every other day or as needed. The Bathing Ritual is different. The Bathing Ritual is to cleanse your mind and soul. I usually shower before I start the ritual so I am clean when I soak in the tub.So what is the Dudeist Bathing Ritual you ask? I see it as a meditation, a way to cleanse my mind and soul. The requirements are simple.
1. First you need a bathtub. The bigger the better, a hot tub or Jacuzzi is excellent. Having a shower bath helps to steam up the environment as well.
2. Setting the mood. Lighting is important. I prefer a dark room with candles or decorative string lighting. Using both is a good idea too. LED candles are great, low maintenance and safe. If you have a hot tub outside even better. The goal is a peaceful environment where you can totally relax, and hopefully not be disturbed.
3. Sound, there are many great choices here. Whale song can tie you to nature, but for some it seems eerie and can conjure up a Lovecraftian horror fest in your mind. U Tube is a great source for all things meditative. Conduct a search for ambient sound, like rain white noise or frequency to open your chakras. You get the picture. This is one of my favorites,
I also like Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Hear. You know what works for you.
4. Aroma therapy can be useful, but may be too much and can be distracting. The KISS method should be followed. ( Keep It Simple Stupid) Again personnel preference is preferential. Find what works for you. I like Eucalyptus Epsom bath salts.
5. Most important Mother Green. I do not recommend alcohol; it clouds the mind, and is not safe. You could pass out or fall asleep; drowning is not your goal. A good Sativa will stimulate your mind, and help lift the dark clouds away. Indica is also viable here. I have the fat fumblie fingers condition and can’t roll a decent “J” to save my life. A glass pipe is how I roll, or not roll. What is important is “Know Your Herb” and how it affects you. The Bathing Ritual is a cleansing meditation. Only you can know what works for you.
6. Last organization, plan out the small details before you start. It is a ritual after all and there are steps you must take to prepare. It really sucks when you, have cleaned yourself, prepared the bath, have your herb and a nice lemonade on a little table within reach of the tub, the Floyd is just coming up, you relax into the water reach for your pipe and you have no fire. Having to get out of the tub to go find your lighter and hemp wick really disrupts the flow. Or you did not put a towel in reach to dry your hands before you light up. This can blow the whole mood. Once you are in the tub you do not want to leave until you are satisfied you have had enough.
So go take a nice hot bath.
This Dude Abides.
