Average DudeParticipant
Heyo,
I think it’s just a cool conversation point. π
I’ve got mine in a frame on the wall. People are like “Hey, you’re a Doctor” and then I’m like “Well, in a manner….” then I get to tell them about Dudeism. π
Average DudeParticipant
I called it βKenyonismβ and I had a devote follower. We hashed out a bunch of the details and then I realized I was just re-creating Taoism.
That’s awesome bud, turns out you were just like the dudes who created Taoism, you just didn’t know it. π
Average DudeParticipantFor me, I had a Google Alert set for free ordinations. π
Later on (maybe a whole year later), I happened to take up Tai Chi and remembered seeing ‘The Dude De Ching‘ on the website, so ordered it for my instructor for a laugh.
Man, when it arrived I had a flick through it and thought, “woah, this is actually pretty interesting” (“That’s f*cking interesting man“), so I got myself one as well, little after that I starting taking it a little easier and gotta say, I was liking the feeling of a little less stress in my life.
Wierd you know, tried a while bunch of stuff to reduce stress over the last few years, but turns out that just ‘taking it easy’ seems to have helped the most. That might not make much sense to read though. π
Since then, I’m working on being more ‘Dudelike’, so not sure I’m a Dude yet, but maybe someday……
Average DudeParticipantAlso interested. π
Also, you know what I’d like for my desk at work? One of those round paperweights (see lots of globe versions) but like the Dudeism symbol (would it work as a bowling ball?). Could just remind me every so often to take a break, and man, I need more of those.

Donno though, maybe that sort of thing is expensive. Just a thought though.

Liking this, gonna try it. π
Average DudeParticipantHey guys,
No Facebook for me (which I think is a good thing, but since I never bothered with it, maybe not?).
Anyway, phone-wise, I just kinda leave it at home a lot, and when I do have it, I’ve got all the notifications disabled apart from the ringer (which is on slient). That way I only see stuff when I want to and if I know I should be waiting for an important call (meh, not often), I can just leave it close by and let the thing vibrate.
Works OK, but still I sometimes think I’d be better off without it, I mean we didn’t have them years ago and things were OK right?
Gonna have to look up this ‘light phone’ sounds good.

Love it!
Average DudeParticipantHah, will def try that. Like chocolate milkshake. Should no idea why I didn’t think this before. π
Average DudeParticipantHi Rev_Chris,
As I’d never had one until I visited that bar, when I first tried to make one at home I looked it up on the net, I think this was the link I used…

Expect, I put a sprinkle of grated Chocolate on the top. π
Average DudeParticipantHmm,
You know what, you’re right. As long as it tastes right eh. π
Average DudeParticipantAh yes, I’ve got both of those already.
Awesome books, both of them. I actually think that reading the ‘The Dude De Ching’ was something that helped me look at things a little differently and reduced my stress levels a bit.Β It was something like ‘You know what, I’m concentrating too much on the wrong things in life”. π
Thanks for the recommendation anyway buddy.
Average DudeParticipantThanks VideoToast, JoeyJoeHoe,
Picked it up on Kindle (cheaper…) thanks to you guys recommending it. Looks good.
Average DudeParticipantI feel this quote really ties in with Skepticism….
“…It’s all a goddamn fake, man! It’s like Lenin said: You look for the person who will benefit, and, uh, uh, you know…”
I mean, so many people are out to convince you of something for a specific reason (you know, like for political reasons or making money, stuff like that) instead of just letting you decide for yourself.
No harm with some good old Skepticism. π
