Dr. Pope earned his non-acamedic (church tested and awarded) PhD in Religion in 1996 and, within the same year, was ordained a Minister of God. The following year, he received an honorary Doctor of Metaphysics, and was church certified in the fields of thanatology, spiritual counseling, and soul therapy. In 1998, he was admitted with lifetime membership in the Kung-Ji Gompa Dharma Association. Dr. Pope is a retired business executive and entrepreneur, having owned and operated an award-winning Thai cuisine restaurant, a real estate investment company, and a software design and development company, all simultaneously for a period of 13 years. He is a published poet and author, his works having been produced and distributed within the U.S., Thailand, India, and several other countries. Dr. Pope is an ennobled member of the Royal House of Sefwi Obeng-Mim, in Ghana, with the substantive title and style of "His Excellency, Noble Kofo (Akan for "warrior")." He is a member of the Royal Order of the Golden Fire Dog, in Sefwi Obeng-Mim, and of the Royal Order of the Tiger and Hawk, in New Sawereso Seinuah, holding substantive commissions as Knight Grand Officer within both sub-national kingdoms of the Ashante Empire. He also holds honorary commissions as Admiral in the Alabama State Naval Militia, and Colonel in the Alabama State Militia, and in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
